I am the owner and trainer at FitFam! I like to describe myself as the girliest, tomboy you will ever meet. I spent half of my life with my dad on a dairy farm and the other half with mom moving with the military. Because of this I love to travel and try anything new. I met my husband, Andy, while in college at UW-Platteville. We are pretty laid back and like to have fun whether it is going out for a few drinks or sitting around at home playing board games.
After having my son in September 2018, I struggled with postpartum anxiety. Exercising was the first thing to help curb some of my anxiety symptoms and made me realize I needed to get help. I knew I needed to exercise to feel good but I began to run into the situation where I did not know what I would do with my son. I did not have someone to watch him and I was not comfortable putting him in a daycare. Eventually I began exercising with him at home. I started to realize I was not the only parent in this situation which led me to the idea of creating FitFam.
I want to teach other parents how to have an active lifestyle with their children and to teach children exercise can be fun. FitFam is here to help with whatever your goals are, whether that be fat loss, mental clarity, being active, or just meeting other parents.
I want all family to feel welcome! That means dads, grandparents, aunts, uncles, you name it! Having the whole family join in on the active lifestyle will help you keep your goals and show your child how it can be a fun family activity.
